Delft is a small, historic city dominated by one institution: TU Delft, one of Europe's leading technical universities. Thousands of international students, PhD candidates and researchers arrive every year, and the housing supply has never kept up. Rooms in the canal-lined centre and in the Wippolder, next to the campus, are the most sought after.
DUWO is the largest student housing provider, and TU Delft reserves some accommodation for new international students, but many still search privately. Professionals often prefer the new apartments in the Spoorzone around the underground station, or the 1930s streets of Hof van Delft and Vrijenban. Tanthof and Buitenhof, in the south and west, are larger residential areas with more space at lower rents.
The Hague and Rotterdam are each about fifteen minutes by train, so commuters compete for the same homes. Be very careful with scams in Delft: fake listings target international students who cannot view a room in person before arriving. Never pay before seeing the room and verifying the landlord.
Tip: if Delft itself is full, look at Rijswijk, The Hague or Rotterdam. With a train or tram pass, you can reach the TU Delft campus quickly from all three.

Warning signs include a landlord who claims to be abroad, a request to pay a deposit before any viewing, and a price far below the usual level. Ask for a video tour, check the address and owner, and only pay after signing a contract. Report suspicious listings to the platform where you saw them.
Where do researchers and young professionals live?
Many choose the Spoorzone for its modern apartments and direct train access, or Hof van Delft and Vrijenban for quieter streets near the centre. Some live in The Hague and cycle or take the tram to the TU Delft campus, which widens the choice of homes considerably.

Does my pass renew automatically?
No. You pay once for a fixed period. On the end date your pass stops by itself and you get a message telling you it has ended. There is no direct debit and nothing to cancel.
How fast do I get an alert?
Listings are refreshed several times an hour. If a new home matches your search profile, it is on your phone within minutes. With the Week Pass you get an email every hour; from the Month Pass onwards it goes by WhatsApp.
Where do I respond to a home?
Directly to the landlord or agent. You get the full address, a reply text that is ready and your tenant file as a PDF. We are not an agency and we charge no agency fees.
What is the 48-hour rule?
Homes that have been online for more than 48 hours are fully visible to everyone, pass or no pass. The pass gives you the head start in those first two days, plus the help with responding.
What does a pass cost?
The Week Pass costs € 9.95 for 7 days, the Month Pass € 29.95 for 30 days and the Until You Find Pass € 49.95 for 60 days. You pay once. There is never a second charge.
Can I look around for free first?
Yes. Searching, filtering and viewing photos is always free. On new homes you see the rent, the neighbourhood and the features; the full address and responding come with a pass, or on their own after 48 hours.
How do I pay?
With iDEAL or PayPal. Your pass is active right after payment and you get an invoice by email. There is no direct debit.
Do I need a password?
No. You log in with your phone number: you get a code by WhatsApp or text message. No password to remember, nothing to forget.
What is in my tenant file?
You fill in your details once: income, work, household and motivation. We turn that into a tidy PDF that you send with every response. Exactly what landlords and agents want to see.
What if I find nothing within 60 days?
With the Until You Find Pass we then extend your pass free of charge in periods of 30 days, until you have a home, up to a maximum of 6 months after purchase. Conditions: your search profile stays active the whole time, you request the extension yourself and the promise applies once per customer. The full promise is in the terms and conditions.
Are the homes I see genuine?
Every home is checked daily to see whether it is still available. Rented homes disappear from your list, and we watch every listing for scam signals. The absence of a signal does not mean a listing is safe: never pay anything up front.
Can I search several cities at once?
Yes. With the Week Pass you have one search profile; from the Month Pass onwards you have three at once. Each profile has its own city, budget and number of rooms.
